Today my little sister turns 21!!!! I cannot believe we made it to 21. I remember the day I came home from school and found my grandma waiting for me to tell me that I had a new baby sister! I was so excited. I remember going up into the bedroom and poking her just so she would wake up and I could hold her. Her nickname growing up was "Dough Head, Doh E, and Scooter" She has always been very head strong and she knew everything from the time she was born. She was a very outgoing child and a popular pre-teen. She was always surrounded by friends and confidence. The last few years we have watched her struggle to find herself and transition from teenager to adult and along the way learn some very painful lessons in life. I am so proud of how far she has come and continually pray that she will continue to move forward. 
Life is not always easy and we all struggle with our personal demons but we do choose how we manage our struggles and I am proud of Dough Head for the choices she has made. Happy Birthday little sister!!! My wise knowledge that I pass to you this year is that life is what you make of it.
Don't let the little things get you down and always move forward. There is never a reason to move backwards. (You have already been there, why not move towards the places you have never been?) I love you!!!
