Do not enter!
DO NOT ENTER INTO OUR HOME RIGHT NOW!!!! We are all currently sick and vegging out in front of the T.V. If you choose to enter, be warned that the occasional sneeze may be directed into your face. It is not personal, we just cannot control it. Why are we all sick you may ask, well, we are a family that believes in sharing and love. Not only will we share personal embarrassing information about each other but we share cold and flu germs as well. We put Jaxson's sick picture up instead of everyone because he is the baby. Even a baby can look adorable when sick. Now an adult with a runny nose and red puffy eyes, NOT PRETTY! When we are better, I will post some pictures of Connor at hockey.

Good bye
I woke up this morning to discover that President Hickley has passed away. Suddenly the blog I had in mind to post seemed so irrelevant. I have listened to conference talks given by President Hinkley, read his autobiography, his book Standing for Something, and many other words written by this man and I still hunger to hear more. While I am sad that he has passed, I am happy and know without a doubt that he has been reunited with his sweet wife. Still, it is a sad day to know that such a humble and good man has left the earth. He was such an example of charity and love.

healthcare
I have been stewing over this program I watched on Discovery Health and I just have to blog about it and get it off my chest. (Please, do not be offended. It is just my personal opinion) The program was on the medical profession in the prisons and gave personal accounts from nurses and doctors that work in the prisons. I found it to be interesting UNTIL they mentioned that the inmates receive better health care than most of the general public. I was furious when they started telling the dollar amounts that the tax payers are contributing for chemotherapy and other health measures that are prolonging the lives of the inmates. My friend asked me, "Would you put them to death? Would you allow them to suffer and die?" I thought about this and decided that NO, I would not allow them to suffer but if it was from the natural course of disease or illness that they died, then so be it. I would give them pain relief and make them comfortable but would NOT expect the tax payers to pay for life saving measures for them. (there is a reason they are in prison right?) An argument expressed on the program was that they are human too and deserve the same rights as any person coming in for medical care.......I do not agree with that statement for the following reason: while we are paying for inmates to receive health care, what about all the children and homeless people that live on the streets that cannot afford it? Or the people who work full time, low paying jobs that are not offered health benefits that cannot afford to take a trip to the doctors and would be bankrupt from taking a visit to the hospital? What about those individuals that are law abiding citizens that are human just like the rest of us that cannot acquire health benefits? My personal opinion as a tax payer is that I would prefer for my tax money to help those who can really benefit from health care as opposed to paying for those who are incarcerated for committing crimes. When I watch programs like this, I hope that one day I will be able to do something to make a difference in healthcare.
Wow, I feel so much better getting that off my chest. I again state that the above is my opinion only and I welcome your comments ONLY if they agree with what I say. (because that is just how I am, you agree with me or you remain silent. LOL,LOL)

New Book
I finished my pirate book and moved on. I just finished reading this book tonight.

This book was incredible. I cannot even find the words to explain the power, horror, inspiration, and strength this book details. This was such a humbling book. I can no longer complain that keeping my house at 67 degrees is torture when I read about the suffering that was inflicted upon the Jewish in the concentration camps. Tonight as I lay Jax down to bed I looked at his round face, chubby cheeks, and brown eyes and couldn't imagine the horror of what the Jewish population experienced. I cannot imagine living in that time period and having my children taken from me, not knowing if they were sent to camps to labor or just executed. The fact that people survived through this is a miracle. The fact that this horrific experience in time even occurred is heartbreaking. Hannelore Wolff tells her struggles of going through three years in concentration camps and the heartbreak of losing all her family members. I do not want give a full description of this book because I feel it is a book you must read to really appreciate. Although it paints a horrific picture of life in a concentration camp it does have a beautiful rainbow at the end of the story and Hannelore Wolff was a woman to be admired for her strength and strong testimony that inspired others.

Happy Birthday Connor

It seems like only yesterday that I gave birth to my Connor Riley. I was so anxious and excited to finally meet this little person that I had dreamed about my whole life. I was worried about how I would perform as a mother and afraid I would fail at raising a son. My first real memory of Connor was of me walking down to the nursery to look at him through the glass. All the little babies were sleeping and I was reading all the names looking for that baby that belonged to me. In the corner a nurse was busy dressing a baby that was crying and making a lot of noise. I thought to myself,"Geez, that poor mother got a baby that cries alot." Wouldn't you know it? That was my Connor. He cried ALOT in the beginning but quickly grew into such a sweet little boy.
Now FIVE years later I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. Connor has grown into a little boy who is very caring and smart. I love watching him get excited about watching sports and his determination at learning how to ice skate so he can be a hockey player. He is so patient with his brother and occasionally will comment "Mom, he is making my head hurt because he is screaming so much" I cannot imagine feeling more joy in my life than I do watching this little guy grow and learn. Happy Birthday Connor!!! You are one of my proudest accomplishments. I LOVE YOU!!!

My bday
My birthday was great! I have wonderful friends that took me out and we had a blast together. (I promised I wouldn't post their blackmail pictures) My husband watched the kids and got up with them this morning so that I could have a few more hours of rest from my long night. I have decided that being 30 isn't THAT bad.........as long as you have great friends and family around you. I am going to spend the day preparing for Connor's birthday tomorrow. He is so excited!!! I cannot believe I have a 5 year old!!!!

A Scenerio
I'm just wondering.....for no particular reason what so ever but.......if you were in a tanning bed, tanning nude, and suddenly you started having a heart attack or say, a panic attack would you immediately run out of the tanning room for assistance OR risk the few extra minutes it would take you to put some clothing on? This could be life or death people!
For those of you that are curious, I would RUN for help. Forget the clothes. I would either A. die anyways so who cares? At least a few people would see me in the same form that I entered this world in when I am leaving or B. survive but be embarressed that a few people saw me naked.
Can you tell I don't have a whole lot to talk about on this blog right now?

7. Coming over the point of the mountain and looking down onto Utah valley and that feeling of being at home again.
8. The feeling of being in the temple
9. Being together with family and laughing

Future NHL player

The beginning of 2008 started with a BANG! Connor has decided to follow in his daddy's footsteps and become a hockey player. He casually told his father that he wanted to play hockey and the over excited dad rushed out to the sports store and bought hockey skates and a helmet for the newest NHL player. Once again, stick in the mud mommy had to dash both boys dreams and remind them that Connor doesn't know how to ice skate yet. The problem was pondered and resolved.......For Connor's fifth birthday that is coming up in two weeks, he decided to use all of his birthday money for skating lessons. He starts this Saturday and is so excited he is bursting at the seams. He asks every 20 minutes, "How many more days until I get to practice?"
When I asked Connor what team he wanted to play for he gave a Borowski answer, "The team that wins!!" I cannot believe that I have a child old enough to start sports lessons of any kind.

New Years golden rule
New Years morning........while some people will be waking up and rolling over to discover that hottie from last night is so NOT!!! I woke up to a different sort of surprise. (No, I did not wake up to discover Jade had turned into McDreamy) I woke up and looked into the mirror to discover that half of my eyebrow is MISSING!!!! It did not fall off while I was sleeping but I learned a valuable lesson yesterday and this morning. This will be my golden rule for 2008. THOU SHALL NOT WAX EYEBROWS WHILE CHILD IS AT THY FEET CRYING NOR AFTER A DAY FULL OF TANTRUMS AND SCREAMING CHILDREN!!!
My friends, if you follow this golden rule, you will NOT end up with half an eyebrow.
